Principal's Message

Happy hot October Parkmead!

Wow, if I didn't know any better I would assume it was the middle of July... This is why we love California though...

As you take this long weekend to relax, rejuvenate and get ready to power through until Thanksgiving Break, don't forget to read. Even 20 minutes a day can have profound benefits for our mind, our health, and our relaxation. Don't have anything good to read? Check out the Walnut Creek Library and their free selection of books for all ages. If you can't read yet, as a grown up or another adult to read with you. While Youtube, Fortnite and Halloween movies have their "rightful place" over a long weekend, you'll never have a greater adventure than diving into a good book!

Parkmead is a closed campus!
Please make sure to remember that from 7:30a-2:30p only students, teachers, staff and visitors who have signed into the office are permitted to be on campus. We definitely want you here, but please sign in first!

School Site Council!
We are looking for a few parents to join our School Site Council. School Site Council (SSC) is a committee of teachers, parents and administrators who work together to develop and monitor the School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA). Our SSC meets virtually from 3:00-4:00.
If you are interested, please fill out the SSC Interest form.

Still need your TB clearance to volunteer?
We will have two more walk in clinics for TB screenings at Tice Creek School on the following dates:
10/22 from 2p-4p
11/19 from 2p-4p
All families are welcome to get cleared and there is no charge for this service.

English Learner Advisory Committee

English Language Advisory Committee Information

The rich diversity of our Parkmead community is one of our greatest strengths, and we are so proud that many of our students are emerging bilinguals.

This year, we are going to hold ELAC (English Learner Advisory Committee) meetings to gather as parents, caregivers, and staff to discuss programs, learning plans, and support for our multilingual students. We would love family feedback to ensure these meetings serve the needs of our community. Please take a moment to complete this brief voluntary ELAC Planning Survey to assist us with planning.

Thank you for your partnership and support in making this a wonderful year for our students!
