Principal's Message
What is up Panthers!?!?
You might have heard about something we call WIN time at Parkmead. "What I Need" time or (WIN) time, is a dedicated, school-wide period of time from 8:20a-8:45a when students receive targeted academic support or enrichment based on their specific learning needs. Every week, the grade level teachers collaborate and look at the standards for reading, writing and math and decide what is one standard ALL students will be able to master by the end of a 4-8 week cycle. These standards are not just addressed during the intervention block, but there is a focus specifically during this time.
Teachers meet each week to look at student data, discuss needs and plan for what WIN time will look like for the following week(s). The goal is for each student to receive what they need. While some students might receive small group instruction around math facts, other students might recreate a piece of writing through the eyes of a specific fairytale character. The goal is for students to get what they need multiple times a week. At Parkmead, All students can learn at high levels!
The Parkmead Fantasy Football League is back!
All students are eligible to make a team for the ultimate prize-Principal for the day... If you would like to create your own fantasy football team and compete against other Parkmead students and families, please sign up here. It's fun, free and oh so competitive.
The draft day will be online Friday September 4th at 6p (you can auto draft if you can't make it).
Going Eco Friendly
Yesterday, Parkmead students got all the information about how to recycle, reuse and compost!
Our Green Team already got started today with training and learning how to help our planet and school. Shout out to all of the students (over 100) who signed up to make Parkmead a better place for the environment!

Last Wednesday, an incredible 159 students Walked and Rolled their way to school! Let’s keep that amazing momentum going every single Walk N Roll Wednesday!

Late orders will be accepted online for 4 days following picture day with no additional fees.
Picture forms will be distributed by your classroom teacher. Completed forms are due ON PICTURE DAY.
Re-take day is October 20.

Lost & Found
Lost & Found items are located on a cart outside the office area. If a student's name is on the item, it will be returned, so please remember to label all clothing, lunchboxes, water bottles, etc.
All remaining items are donated on the last Friday of each month. - which is THIS FRIDAY!

Parkmead Education Resources Council
Peer Family Network
Are you new to Parkmead Elementary? Have you been around awhile?
The Peer Family Network pairs families that are new to Parkmead with experienced ones to share their knowledge of the school and community. The goal is to build connections across our community while helping new families feel welcomed and supported as they transition to a new school.
Through your generous donation PERC, our school’s Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), is able to purchase classroom supplies, cover the cost of school field trips, provide teacher appreciation, and much more not covered by the school’s regular budget. Your dollars stay right here and help make Parkmead Elementary a wonderful learning environment and community.
Donations to the Annual Fund can be made through the Parkmead Store. The suggested donation to help meet the fundraising goal is $250 per family, but any amount is deeply appreciated! Your donation is tax deductible (Federal ID 61-1459498), and remember to find out if your employer has a corporate matching gift program.
PERC needs you!
Save the date for the first PERC Monthly Meeting on Friday, Sept. 11 at 8:30 am in Parkmead Elementary’s MPR and on Google Meet. Share your ideas, meet other parents, find volunteer opportunities, and help shape a fun and enriching school year. We meet the second Friday of every month, so mark your calendar. We look forward to seeing you there!
Want to pick the movie? Show your Panther Pride Contest
The Show your Panther Pride contest is open until September 1, 2026. The winner will pick the movie for Outdoor Family Movie Night. Looking for more Panther products? Parkmead pull on hoodies, zip up hoodies, hats, beanies, vehicle magnets, and stickers can be purchased through the Spirit Wear Store.
Volunteers Needed - Fall Carnival is Oct. 3 from 3-6pm
The Parkmead Elementary Fall Carnival will be on Saturday, October 3. Join the fun with games, crafts, prizes, the legendary Boo Bakery, and more - but we need volunteers like you to help make it possible!
