Happy Wednesday Panthers!
We are officially done with state testing and I cannot express how proud I am of our students. The teachers worked so hard to prepare them and the students took the task of doing their best to heart. Since they all worked so hard, 3rd-5th grade earned a 1 hour recess and popsicle party on Friday!!!
HUGE shout out to Ms. Sandi for hosting a "Science Cram Session" on Monday after school. Ms. Sandi and her husband "Mr. Pat" spent over an hour of their own time tutoring 52 students to get them prepared to do their best on the California Science Test. That doesn't include the hours she spent making study sheets for the students to reference. Thank you Ms. Sandi and Mr. Pat!
Open House is Tuesday!!!
As we wrap up the school year, it's time to shine and show off what we've done this year. Everyone is invited to Open House at 6p Tuesday May 19th. As a reminder, all classrooms will be open from 6p-7p for families to walk around and tour campus. We will also have our fabulous art show presented by Ms. Munn. If you think DaVinchi was artistic, wait until you see what our students have done under the direction of Ms. Munn! Please make sure to stop by the MPR before or after heading to your classrooms.
Walnut Creek Bicycle Rodeo: Pedal Palooza
Thursday May 14 is the City of Walnut Creek's Bicycle Rodeo: Pedal Palooza in Civic Park from 3 to 6pm. We will have several businesses handing out giveaways and if students talk to each City booth to learn about the bicycle facilities around the City, bicycle safety tips, and bicycle related games, they will receive a prize courtesy of Target!
The City will also have a much smaller station that morning on the northwest corner of the Broadway and Newell Avenue intersection from 7:30 to 10 am to catch any students there.
5-Minute Survey: Are School Meals Influencing Eating at Home?
Our district is partnering with Eat Real and Professor Christopher Gardner, PhD, at Stanford University to better understand how school meals shape students’ eating habits.
This short, anonymous survey asks families to share their child’s experience with school meals and how it may influence food preferences at home.
✔ Takes just 5 minutes
✔ Open to all families
✔ Helps improve student meals and healthy habits
📅 Deadline: May 22nd, 2026
