Principal's Message

Happy Wednesday Panthers!

Shout out to all of the 3rd and 4th graders who completed testing today! We are so proud of how hard you have prepared for these assessments and you all did such a wonderful job! Aside from makeups next week and the science test for 5th graders, you are all done! We will see what grade level tried their hardest and earned a 1 hour recess with popsicles! Those results be out next Wednesday.

As we shift away from testing, we head into the final weeks of school! We have Music on the Green, Open House, Dad's Night Out, Field Day and more! Please make sure to be in the know and read communications coming home. We don't want anyone to be left out. Reminder the last day of school is June 4th and it is a minimum day.

Good luck to all of you who are heading into your WCLL Playoffs this weekend!!! Win, lose or tie, you should be proud you gave it your all and were a good sport.

Stay positive Panthers and don't forget to smile!

Photos Wanted for 5th Grade Slideshow!

We are excited to create a meaningful end-of-year slideshow that celebrates our students’ entire elementary school journey—and we need your help to make it special!
Please take a few minutes to submit photos from your child’s school years, from kindergarten through 5th grade. We’re looking for pictures that capture school memories, such as classroom activities, field trips, performances, spirit days, and other school events.
Photo Guidelines:
  • Please upload photos to the grade-level folders that have been created using the link below.
  • Be sure to label each photo with a brief description of the event (for example: “2ndGrade_FieldTrip_Zoo” or “4thGrade_Science”).
  • Photos should include more than one child and reflect school-related events.
  • Exceptions: You may include individual photos for Kindergarten and 5th Grade school portraits only.
  • All photos need to be submitted by Friday, May 22nd
Submitting your photos is the best way to ensure your child is included in the slideshow. Without submissions, they may not be represented—and we don’t want anyone to be left out! We will not have the capacity to check and make sure every student is represented, so it is up to you!
Thank you for helping us celebrate these special memories and make this slideshow something the kids will treasure for years to come!
If you have any questions, please reach out to Tiphanie Karas at karasfamilyof6@gmail.com.

Volunteer for Field Day!

Field Day is coming up on June 1 (1st-5th grades) and June 2 (TK/Kindergarten), and we need volunteers to help make this Parkmead tradition a blast for our Panthers. From set up, to running games, overseeing lunch, and handing out popsicles, there’s a role for everyone!

Trouble at the Tangerine: Book Donation

We all loved Simon’s mission to make the Tangerine Pines his forever home in this year’s One Book One School selection, but sometimes books need to relocate, just like families.

If you would like to donate your copy of Trouble at the Tangerine to another young reader, Ms. Westcoat will accept copies until the end of the school year. Please drop books off in the front office.

We’re Almost There - Help Us Reach the Finish Line!

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, WCEF has raised $1.55 million — bringing us very close to our $1.6 million goal. This strong support is already making a meaningful impact for our students and schools.
As we look ahead to June 30, we’re aiming to raise the final $50,000 to fully reach our goal and continue supporting the programs our students rely on — this year and beyond.
WCEF volunteers are working hard to sustain and strengthen these important learning opportunities, and every contribution helps move us closer.
A huge thank you to everyone who has already given — your support is making a real difference this school year.
Haven’t donated yet? There’s still time to give!
And if you have, don’t forget: your gift is tax-deductible, and many companies offer matching donations — it’s an easy way to double your impact!
